I have experienced a few pleasantly embarrassing conditions. It is when I see a mother who can't say thank you but the tears to express everything for having been saved. She was airlifted from Mustang district in a critical obstetrics emergency condition.

Myagdi is one of the highly flood and landslides affected districts. Roads and communication systems are interrupted. There have been a total of 37 deaths due to floods and landslides. Helicopter is only way to supply food and essential medical supplies.

Training data collection assistants as part of the intervention research in rural Nepal

Training a group of local girls and women on the key health messages to be embedded in the songs. A totle of 26 groups of locals participated in the song competition organised in the community.

Meeting with women's group leaders and traditional healers to discuss the survey and intervention plan in the intervention community. These consultations help communities lead the surveys and intervention programs.

Being with the community soaking up the local way of livelihood and culture, it was one of the most rewarding part of intervention research. An excellent kitchen have had been established with the help of locals in the village.

The data collection assistants were selected by the local leaders. A training workshop was organised in the local school on the survey tool and the use of iPads in recording household data.

Nepalese village life cherishes every community niceties shared. Laureate Professor Roger Smith and Ms. Annie Smith celebrated their 47th marriage anniversary in the intervention village of rural Nepal.

The locals presented the heartfelt thank you to Laureate Professor Roger Smith, Ms. Annie Smith, Mr. David Young and Dr Binod Bindu Sharma for having such a culturally appropriate community education program organised in the villages.

Integrating all the facets entailed by intervention research to make it a effective endeavour.
